A founder-led concierge
for those who travel with intention.
Key to Japan is a private practice dedicated to crafting ultra-bespoke journeys through Japan for a small number of discerning travelers each year.
The practice is led by its founder — Oxford-educated, with eighteen years in international finance across Tokyo and Hong Kong, and a lifelong student of Japanese culture, landscape, and craft. He has visited eighty countries and summited more than fifty mountains across Japan.
Every itinerary is shaped by hand, and accompanied by a sensibility that values restraint, silence, and the things that cannot be reserved online.
Japan is a country best understood slowly, in the company of someone who has spent a life listening to it.
A journey is not a list of places visited, but a quiet mark on a life. Our work is one of restraint — a trip well designed leaves the traveler more themselves, not more entertained.
We accept a limited number of clients each year. Inquiries are welcome, by introduction or by writing directly.
